Getting Out of Humberto Delgado: Metro, Night Bus, Taxi

Metro. The Red Line starts at Aeroporto, so every train heads into town. It runs 6.30 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily, every 5–8 minutes on weekdays. A single is €1.90 on a reusable €0.50 Navegante card; Zapping credit cuts a ride to €1.72. No airport surcharge.

Night bus. After the metro shuts, Carris night bus 208 still stops at the airport, running through the small hours between Cais do Sodré and Oriente.

Aerobus. Discontinued; ignore old guides.

Taxi. A taxi into the centre runs around €15–20; from 15 October 2026 airport taxis use a fixed-fare scheme with a €16 minimum.

Fares, timetables and services change: check metrolisboa.pt, carris.pt and lisbonairport.pt before you travel.

Landed Late or Flying at Dawn: Two Ways to Decide

Landed after 1 a.m.? Night bus 208 or a taxi, then a 24-hour desk (Lisboa Central, We Hate F Tourists, Goodmorning) or Ambiente's door code. HI Lisboa Oriente's check-in closes at midnight.

Flying out at dawn? HI Lisboa Oriente, two stops from the terminal, breakfast packed to go. Or a proper night's sleep first at Lisboa Central or We Hate F Tourists, both with a staffed desk for an early check-out, then the 6.30 a.m. first train.

FAQ

Is there somewhere to sleep in Lisbon Airport?

No. Humberto Delgado has no sleeping pods, capsule hotel or rest cabins, airside or landside. Terminal 1 stays open 24 hours, with seating and 24-hour food outlets landside, and official self-service luggage lockers sit on the Terminal 1 departures floor, open 24/7. For a real bed, the nearest hostels are a short metro ride away.

Is there a hotel inside Lisbon Airport in Portugal?

No hotel operates inside the terminal. Some sites use the name "Lisbon Airport Hostel" for a property in Olivais, 2.1–5 km from the terminal. It isn't inside the airport and it isn't in Hostelworld's bookable catalogue, so it has no card on this page.

Where should I stay near the airport in Lisbon?

No dorm hostel is within walking distance of the terminal, so choose by metro route. The shortest hop is HI Lisboa Oriente - Pousada de Juventude: two Red Line stops, no change, then a 13-minute walk. For a central bed, Lisboa Central Hostel and We Hate F Tourists are each one change away.

How much does a hostel in Lisbon cost?

Dorm beds at the five hostels on this page start from roughly €10 to €36 a night; typical rates sit higher — €25–45 at most of them and well above that at the priciest. Some add Lisbon's tourist tax of up to €4 a night, paid on arrival, and the metro in from the airport is €1.90 on top.

Staying Central Instead?

No early flight or late landing? Then skip the airport side. The Cheap Hostels in Lisbon page ranks the city's lowest-priced beds, and the Best Hostels in Lisbon page has the all-trips verdict.
